The Women in Science Award of the Maria Mitchell Association will recognize an individual who has worked to increase the participation and advancement of girls and/or women in science and mathematics.
To be considered for the Maria Mitchell Women in Science Award an individual must:
- Demonstrate consistent leadership and support for the advancement of girls and women in the fields of natural and physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, computer science or technology.
- Be someone who served as a mentor, role model or key player in a program designed specifically to encourage and advance girls and women in the fields of science, mathematics and technology.
- Be a United States citizen
