A camera store had a special where you would get a certain (cheap) printer for free "with the purchase of any camera."<br /><br />I found the cheapest camera in the store and went to the register to get the deal. They refused. Called the manager. They refused. Called the headquarters of the chain. They refused and changed the ad the next week.Enoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3722233.post-7819585144273457582020-10-20T01:40:17.350-05:002020-10-20T01:40:17.350-05:00I don't see enough action here for a Hollywood...I don't see enough action here for a Hollywood movie... Memorizing was work, and I could derive it in a minute if I needed it. And, if I derived it, I'd be sure it was correct (rather than relying on my memory). Sometimes other students would ask me what the formula was, and I'd say, "Give me a minute." They thought this weird. Eventually, I memorized it just from using it so often.<br /><br />My advisor once did a talk where he presented a model where there was an interaction term between nature and nurture. The interaction term contributed almost all of the effect. The model was rather simple (so probably not very close to reality), but I think the point is that you shouldn't think it is one or the other.David Marcushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07084520656051241766noreply@blogger.com
